From target account to CRM.

Four steps your team otherwise does by hand between sources and HubSpot.

  1. 1 Identify accounts

You see which companies fit your offer: by your ideal-customer criteria, or as accounts similar to customers who already buy.

  2. 2 Enrich the buying center

Each account gets the relevant people, roles and contact details. Missing fields are filled from several sources, and duplicates are merged first.

  3. 3 Prioritise buying signals

Job changes, hiring and tech-stack changes show where something is moving. Your team works those accounts first, instead of a list from top to bottom.

  4. 4 HubSpot as the maintained source

Enriched accounts and contacts land in HubSpot. New leads are completed and assigned before anyone researches them by hand.

Six use cases: what goes in, what happens, what comes out

Tech stack & CRM consolidation

Your growing tech stack spreads data across separate tools and requires manual exports.

  • Custom integrations

Example in the guide: Workist

Tools from the guide

  • HubSpot
  • Clay
  • Salesforce
  • Zendesk
  • Zapier
  1. Input / signal

    • Overlapping licences and fragmented data
    • Shadow CRMs in Excel and manual exports
  2. Check & enrichment

    • Map tools, data flows and processes
    • Identify overlaps and unused licences
    • Review workflows; reduce required fields and exceptions
  3. CRM & team action

    • Connect marketing, sales and customer success on one platform
    • Connect Clay via webhook and integrate existing systems
    • Provide pipeline and performance reports directly in the platform
  4. Your result

    • One data foundation for your customer journey
    • Answers for every team without data exports
Illustration: Duplicate record cards merge and gaps are filled from several sources; on the right are a complete card and a buying group of four people.

Incomplete CRM data

Missing or outdated contact and company data make work in the CRM harder for your team.

  • Contact & company enrichment

Example in the guide: Spotcom

Tools from the guide

  • Lusha
  • Clay
  • BuiltWith
  • TheirStack
  • Sales Navigator
  • Fibbler
  • Claygent
  • Teamfluence
  • HubSpot
  1. Input / signal

    • Company size, revenue, industry and tech stack
    • Email, mobile number, LinkedIn URL and role
    • Engagement signals, call notes and open deals
  2. Check & enrichment

    • Merge duplicate contacts and accounts before enrichment
    • Fill missing fields from multiple sources in priority order
  3. CRM & team action

    • Refresh contacts and companies on a schedule; flag outdated data
    • Identify and enrich relevant stakeholders for each account
    • Add context to customer records at the handoff to customer success
  4. Your result

    • A clean data foundation for your team
    • Automated workflows and less admin work
Illustration: A market map with marked companies and an orange signal leads through a magnifying glass to a short briefing in front of a person wearing a headset at a desk.

Manual research

Before your calls, accounts, roles and current developments need researching and a briefing needs preparing.

  • Account Research
  • TAM sourcing

Example in the guide: node.energy

Tools from the guide

  • Claygent
  • Perplexity
  1. Input / signal

    • ICP account list for the whole market
    • Champion job changes, hiring spikes and tech stack changes
  2. Check & enrichment

    • Assess ICP fit with AI
    • When a signal fires, enrich contact, role, news, case study and opener
    • Identify stakeholders and the buying group
  3. CRM & team action

    • Deliver a five-minute briefing straight to the CRM or inbox
    • Bring together deal stage, previous interactions and an opener before the call
  4. Your result

    • Your team is prepared for every call
    • Research runs automatically in the background
Illustration: An envelope leads to a junction with three paths: the upper one reaches a priority recipient with a stopwatch, the middle one another person, and the lower one a faded nurture loop.

Routing & qualification

Your inbound leads often contain only a name and email; role, phone number, company size and buying signal are missing.

  • Lead Capturing

Example in the guide: Experts Inside

Tools from the guide

  • HubSpot
  1. Input / signal

    • Incoming inbound form
    • Name and email with missing company and contact context
  2. Check & enrichment

    • Enrich details; classify ICP fit, intent and deal size
    • Combine firmographic fit, engagement and behaviour into a score
    • Tag leads outside the ICP and move them into nurture
  3. CRM & team action

    • Route qualified leads to the right rep
    • Start a first-touch sequence and provide a complete briefing
  4. Your result

    • You respond in minutes instead of hours
    • Your team works on qualified pipeline
Illustration: A company building at the top left sends an orange signal to a message card with a pen; an S-shaped path runs through an envelope, speech bubble and phone to a reply bubble at the bottom right beside a round stop marker with a raised hand.

Automated outreach

A job change, funding or an intent spike gives you a concrete reason to reach out.

  • Signals

Example in the guide: knk

Tools from the guide

  • Fibbler
  • Clay
  • Lemlist
  • Claude
  • Codex
  1. Input / signal

    • Job change, funding or intent spike
    • Engagement with LinkedIn ads, posts or profiles
  2. Check & enrichment

    • Draft an opener from the signal, company context and role
    • Prepare re-engagement from deal history and new triggers
    • Hand champion job changes at strategic enterprise accounts directly to the rep
  3. CRM & team action

    • Connect outreach across email, LinkedIn and phone
    • Stop the sequence when a reply arrives
  4. Your result

    • Your outreach is relevant at the right moment
    • Messages read like individual research

Market & customer base monitoring

Changes at target and customer accounts give you new reasons for conversations and signals before renewal.

    • Flag the account and draft a message to the successor
  4. Your result

    • You identify opportunities with project and role context
    • Displacement and expansion opportunities become visible

Setup, then your team.

You get a build and a handoff. Light maintenance afterwards is only there if you want it. We do not take over your entire sales process.

Illustration: on the left a person connects modules on a workbench. On the right the same setup is passed as a folder to a second person.

Setup and handoff

The engagement supports your existing sales team. Your revenue leads contribute their sales context and requirements.

  • Typically 10–20 hours from your revenue lead
  • Your team operates the system itself

Light maintenance, optional

After the handoff we can adjust workflows when sources or fields change. Active outreach stays a separate service.

  • Only after the handoff
  • We do not run your whole pipeline motion
  • Campaigns and sequences live elsewhere

How node.energy creates more relevant conversations.

The figure belongs to this client story. It is not a promise for every setup.

5× more demos in under 3 months

node.energy connects industrial companies with renewable energy producers. Expanding on the buyer side took substantial sales time: wrong contacts, missing phone numbers and manual research slowed the team down.

What changed for the sales team

Clay enriched company data and helped segment target accounts by their purchasing situation. Relevant contacts, direct phone numbers and timely signals made outreach more targeted, integrated with HubSpot and the team’s daily work.

This gave the team a stronger foundation for sales conversations. The client story reports an increase from an average of 5–6 to 30–35 demos per month.

All pipeline client stories

Before you book.

Is this a setup or an ongoing engagement?

First a setup with training and handoff. Light maintenance afterwards is only if you want it. Unlike active outreach, we do not keep running your campaigns from here.

Do we already need a sales team?

Yes. The build frees a team that already works accounts and leads. It does not create net-new demand from zero.

What if our CRM data is already messy?

Merging duplicates and filling missing fields is part of the build, before automation sits on top.

Does this include all new-business work?

The setup detects buying signals and writes them into HubSpot in priority order. Running the campaign and active outreach are a separate service, and so is LinkedIn.

Testimonials

What our clients say.

“I could not be happier. We have now achieved major successes and have a process that enables us to scale: onboard new salespeople and make them productive. The question is no longer, ‘What should they do?’ It is completely clear—they follow the framework.”

“We have understood our ICP very well for 26 years. Over time, we had built a wonderful funnel: our organic traffic converted the customers who already had a need. It worked extremely well. But eventually, that funnel was exhausted. We could not simply send more budget to Google, Bing, or another provider and expect more conversions to come out.” — Allan Abt ‍
